Is Chicago’s literary community in the midst of a “golden age” of poetry? Last year, a popular poetry blog suggested that the city was becoming “the most interesting and vital…‘poetic cluster’ in the country,” a cluster dubbed the “New Chicago School.” Included in this “cluster” were graduate students in the English Department who write and publish original poetry.
